Dear Members of the Selangor Bar,


Kindly be reminded of the Bar Council's Circular No. 324/2024 dated 10th October, 2024 - 'Submission of Data and Compliance Report 2024', Circular No. 374/2024 dated 13th November 2024, - 'Data Compliance Report 2024 (DCR 2024)' and Circular No.018/2025 dated 9th January, 2025 - 'Mandatory Submission of Data Compliance Report (DCR) 2024 or Declaration of Non-Applicability (Deadline to Submit: 15 Jan 2025).


All Members must take note of the mandatory requirement to submit the DCR 2024 or, where applicable, a declaration of non-applicability for DCR 2024, via the DCR Submission Portal. This submission requirement is in accordance with the directive issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) under its Policy Document, and all submissions must be made on or before 15th January, 2025 (Wednesday). The DCR reporting period is for 2022 and 2023.


Non-submission of the DCR can result in enforcement actions pursuant to the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA), Financial Services Act 2013 (FSA), Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 (IFSA), where applicable.
